Terms of Service
Effective September 8, 2026 ยท Version 2026-09-08
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to the StudyOutlaws website, browser extension, dashboard, subscriptions, automation tools, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). "StudyOutlaws," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the operator of the Service.
By creating an account, purchasing a plan, installing the extension, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Mandatory rights provided by applicable law remain unaffected.
1. Agreement, Eligibility, and Authority
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
- You may use the Service only if you can legally enter into this agreement and are not prohibited from using it under applicable law.
- If you use the Service for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Disclaimer of Affiliation and Third-Party Services
StudyOutlaws is an independent service and is not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with any third-party educational platform for which the Service may be used. Product and company names belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility.
Third-party platforms are controlled by their own operators and are subject to their own terms, policies, availability, and technical changes. StudyOutlaws does not control those platforms and does not guarantee that they permit, support, or will continue to work with the Service.
3. Accounts, Credentials, and Security
- You must provide accurate account information and keep it current.
- You are responsible for protecting your login details and for activity performed through your account.
- You may not share, sell, rent, transfer, or provide unauthorized access to your account or subscription.
- You may connect only third-party accounts that you own or are expressly authorized to use, and you authorize the Service to perform the actions you configure for those accounts.
- Notify support promptly if you believe an account, credential, or payment method has been used without permission.
We may require verification, reset credentials, restrict sessions, or temporarily block access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, or third parties.
4. Academic Integrity and Acceptable Use
By using StudyOutlaws, you agree to comply with all academic honor codes, school policies, and institutional guidelines. StudyOutlaws does not condone academic dishonesty or misuse of the Service for cheating, misrepresenting work as your own, or bypassing learning requirements.
You may not use the Service to:
- Break any law, regulation, court order, school rule, honor code, or third-party platform term.
- Access an account, assignment, system, or data without permission.
- Bypass security, access controls, monitoring, rate limits, or technical restrictions.
- Disrupt, overload, scrape, probe, or damage the Service or another platform.
- Reverse-engineer, copy, resell, sublicense, or create a competing service from protected components.
- Use the Service to distribute malware, infringe rights, harass others, or commit fraud.
You are responsible for any academic, disciplinary, account, or legal consequences that result from your use of the Service.
5. User Responsibility and Software Use
StudyOutlaws provides productivity, account-management, browser-extension, and automation tools. You decide which features to activate and are responsible for reviewing settings, timing, accuracy, outputs, and submissions before relying on them.
- Use the Service only on devices, networks, and accounts you are authorized to use.
- Confirm that your browser, extension version, and connected platform are compatible.
- Review automated actions and stop a run if its behavior or result is unexpected.
- Do not rely on the Service as a substitute for instruction, judgment, or required schoolwork.
StudyOutlaws is not responsible for consequences caused by unauthorized use, incorrect settings, user tampering, third-party interference, or a violation of another platform's rules.
6. Plans, Billing, Renewals, and Price Changes
- Plan features, price, currency, billing interval, and any applicable taxes are shown before purchase.
- Recurring subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. By subscribing, you authorize the recurring charges disclosed at checkout.
- Payments are processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe and may be subject to their terms.
- You must keep a valid payment method on file. Failed or reversed payments may suspend paid access.
- We may change prices prospectively with reasonable notice. A price change will not alter a billing period you have already paid for.
7. Refunds, Cancellations, and Consumer Rights
- You may cancel a recurring subscription through your account settings. Cancellation prevents future renewals, and access normally continues until the end of the paid billing period.
- Except where applicable law requires otherwise, digital purchases, completed billing periods, and partially used subscription periods are non-refundable and are not prorated.
- Contact support promptly about duplicate charges, an incorrect plan, missing paid access, or another billing error so the issue can be investigated.
Consumers may have statutory withdrawal, cancellation, conformity, repair, price-reduction, or refund rights that cannot be waived by these Terms. Where the law permits immediate delivery of digital services after express consent and acknowledgment of a resulting loss of withdrawal rights, those rights are affected only to the extent the legally required conditions are satisfied.
8. Availability, Updates, and Third-Party Changes
The Service may be updated, interrupted, limited, or unavailable because of maintenance, security events, demand, network failures, third-party changes, legal requirements, or events outside our reasonable control. Supported platforms can change their code, policies, authentication, or access rules without notice.
We may add, modify, pause, replace, or retire features when reasonably necessary. Beta, preview, and in-development features may be incomplete, contain errors, or never become generally available. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, permanent compatibility, a particular task result, or continued support for any third-party website.
9. Intellectual Property and Limited License
All content, branding, code, and original material created by StudyOutlaws is the property of StudyOutlaws or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
While your account is active and you comply with these Terms, StudyOutlaws grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to use the Service for personal, authorized purposes. No ownership rights are transferred to you. Third-party trademarks and content remain the property of their respective owners.
10. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access when reasonably necessary because of nonpayment, suspected fraud, security risk, abusive behavior, a material breach of these Terms, a legal requirement, or harm to the Service or a third party.
Where appropriate, we may provide notice and an opportunity to correct the issue. Immediate action may be taken when delay could create harm, liability, or a security risk. Termination does not remove obligations or liabilities that arose before termination, and any mandatory refund rights remain unaffected.
11. Warranty Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." StudyOutlaws disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every platform, accepted by a school or third party, or undetectable. We do not guarantee grades, learning outcomes, task completion, account standing, or any particular result. This section does not exclude a warranty or statutory guarantee that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, StudyOutlaws and its owners, personnel, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages; loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or opportunity; academic or disciplinary consequences; account restrictions; or losses caused by third-party platforms.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total aggregate liability arising from or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to StudyOutlaws during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or US$100.
These limitations do not apply to fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury, statutory product liability, breach of an essential contractual duty where liability cannot be excluded, or any other liability that applicable law does not allow to be limited. Where liability for a slightly negligent breach of an essential duty can be limited, it is limited to foreseeable damage typical for this type of agreement.
13. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law and to the extent caused by your conduct, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless StudyOutlaws and its owners, personnel, contractors, and service providers from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from:
- Your unlawful, unauthorized, or abusive use of the Service.
- Your material breach of these Terms.
- Your infringement or violation of another person's rights.
- Content, instructions, credentials, or accounts you provide or connect without authorization.
This section does not require indemnification for loss caused by StudyOutlaws' own wrongful conduct.
14. Legal Compliance and Enforcement
StudyOutlaws may investigate suspected violations, preserve relevant records, enforce account restrictions, and cooperate with lawful requests from courts, regulators, payment providers, or law-enforcement authorities. We may also act to protect users, intellectual property, platform integrity, and the security of the Service.
Nothing in these Terms authorizes copyright infringement, unauthorized access, circumvention of technical protection measures, or any other unlawful conduct.
15. Informal Dispute Resolution and Applicable Law
Before filing a formal claim, you and StudyOutlaws agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally. A notice should describe the issue, relevant account information, the requested resolution, and supporting records. The receiving party will have 30 days to respond, unless urgent relief is reasonably necessary or applicable law does not allow this requirement.
These Terms are governed by the law applicable where the StudyOutlaws operator is established, excluding conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory law requires otherwise. Consumers retain any mandatory protections and access to courts or dispute-resolution bodies available under the law of their habitual residence. Non-consumer disputes may be brought in the competent courts at the operator's principal place of business where that venue agreement is legally enforceable.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, law, security practices, or business operations. Material changes will take effect after reasonable notice where required. The updated date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
Continued use after revised Terms take effect means you accept them where applicable law permits. A change does not retroactively alter the terms governing a dispute that arose before the change.
17. General Terms
These Terms, together with the plan and checkout terms shown to you, form the entire agreement about the Service. If part of these Terms is unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your account or rights under these Terms without permission. StudyOutlaws may transfer these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, or sale of the Service, subject to mandatory law. These Terms do not create an employment, partnership, joint-venture, or agency relationship.
